Osu Karateka and Families, We are now back in full swing at KKC Karate for 2016, classes resumed on Monday 18th January and now the full timetable has recommenced as of last Thursday 28th January 2016. I hope you have all had a good break over Christmas and New Year and are ready to get back into your karate. I look forward to seeing you all in the dojo again. What is your goal for 2016? Those of you who have already attended classes this year, know I have been asking all the students what their karate goal is for 2016? Is it to be fitter, be better at kata or kumite, go in a tournament or achieve a higher grade? It might be one or all of what I have mentioned. Or your goal could be something else altogether! Without goals it is hard to progress, if you are just doing karate because mum and dad say you should and you don’t enjoy it, then maybe you should look at another activity. What is your karate goal? What do you want to achieve for 2016 from Karate? Write it down and together we can work towards it. OSU! |

IFKKA Annual Summer Karate Camp Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th January. Well what can I say but awesome! If you weren’t there you have missed an amazing event. Such great training led by Shihan David Pickthall from the UK. He is a master! We also trained alongside other Kyokushin Organisations who are all exceptional karateka, it was a privilege and honour to train with. Don’t miss this event next year. I would like to thank all those from KKC Karate who helped make this a success, Anthony Zamattia for the use of your truck to transport the mats and setting up with Mia Zamattia and Nisha Hewitt. Megan Salmond for helping with the food on Sunday, Paul Morcos for helping with the food and then the pack up and transporting the mats. Thank you to Bec Greensill for being available to take some awesome photos on Saturday and then again at the beach session Sunday morning, with Jess Branch and Ben. I will advise you when the photos are posted on the KKC website. Pictured below is the group shot after the beach training.

KKC Karate Fight Night is held on Tuesday nights fortnightly the first class for 2016 will be held on Tuesday 9th February 7 to 8pm. As this is an extra class over and above the class schedule it will cost $10 per session paid on the night. However for Students 2nd kyu and higher there will be no charge to attend this class. The idea for this class is to focus on fighting only and to offer a vehicle where the juniors can mix with the adults and develop their fighting skills. Juniors from 9 to 15 years for health reasons I recommend you have your own head gear, if you do not have your own they can be purchased from me for $55 inc gst. Please talk to me at the dojo, if body padding is required I will provide that. For all fight night dates go to the Karate Class Time on the website or click here |
