Osu Karate-ka, Kohai & Families, There has been a lot on the calendar and it is nearly time for the September School holidays. This year is just flying by, once again we were asked to perform a karate demonstration at Drummoyne Public School Fete, what a great day (details below). September is the time for junior and senior gradings, if you are eligible to grade be sure to prepare, know the requirements for your grade, it is not enough to have the hours they are just one aspect taken into consideration when a student is invited to grade. Remember it is a privilege to be invited to grade, not an automatic right! |

Drummoyne Public School Fete Karate Demonstration what a great day we had at the Drummoyne Public School Fete on Sunday 25th August, the weather was fabulous for the fete. Thank you to all who attended making the demonstration a great success. We had 43 students from KKC Karate with all classes represented from Kinder Karate, Kids Karate and through to the Adults in Kyokushin Karate Club. Also thank you to Sensei Shah from Kuro Obi Dojo Petersham, who once again managed the microphone. Photos are posted in the web gallery of the KKC Karate website and I have a couple of videos that look good, I need to work out how to post them. Thank you for your support, Osu! |

4th IFK World Junior & Cadet Tournament 2015 Israel The IFKKA has been advised that in 2015 (month still to be confirmed) there will be a 4th IFK World Junior & Cadet Tournament in Israel. This is a fabulous opportunity for our junior students to be part of the training squad and ultimately the team. In 2011 we sent 4 students to this event; it would be good if we could manage a full team this time. We are still waiting on details from IFK headquarters to be confirmed, but based on the previous world junior and cadet tournaments there is usually a junior boys (5 competitors plus 1 reserve) and girls team (3 competitors plus 1 reserve) all aged from 10 to 15 years and holding a grade of 8th kyu or higher. Cadets 16 & 17yrs Kyokushin Rules (knockdown) minimum grade usually 6th Kyu male & female, usually 3 weight divisions for the males and 2 weight divisions for the female. As I get more information I will keep you updated, but this will be a fabulous opportunity for our students, so start saving your pennies. |
